The boy did not return from his third quest - " Not ever shall !!" cried the witch.

So the girl set off, whistling to seek her brother. Through a blinding rainbow. and then to a square tower spinning in the wind.

This is a beautifully told tale in which as in the most pleasing of stories, courage succeeds at last. Although they have never meet, the writer and illustrator's separate work casts a shared and singular spell.
